Delete your DeniBook account

DeniBook lets shop owners create an account with email or phone. If you want your account and business data removed, this page explains how to request deletion and what happens to your data.

How to request deletion

1. Sign in to DeniBook at denibook.com with the email or phone on the account you want deleted.
2. Open More → Contact in the app (or use our contact form).
3. Choose subject Account & login and write that you want your account deleted. Use the same email or phone as your DeniBook sign-in so we can verify ownership.
4. We confirm your request by reply, then complete deletion within 30 days (usually sooner).

If you cannot sign in, contact us from the email or phone on the account, or explain how we can verify you own the account. We may ask a short security question before deleting.

What we delete

When your deletion request is processed, we remove data linked to your account, including:

• Your profile (name, email, phone, and account settings)
• Shops you own (business name, location, M-Pesa number on file, reminder settings)
• Customers, credit sales, payments, and adjustments you entered in those shops
• Team invites and staff access for shops you own
• SMS reminder preferences and unused SMS top-up balance on your account
• Your sign-in credentials so you can no longer access the app with that account

If you only joined someone else’s shop as staff, deletion removes your login and team membership — not the shop owner’s business records.

What we may keep (and why)

• Subscription payment records (for example M-Pesa confirmation code, amount, and date) for tax, accounting, and fraud prevention. After deletion, these are disassociated from your profile or kept only with minimal identifiers required by law.
• SMS delivery logs for a limited period to resolve delivery disputes and prevent abuse. Message content and phone numbers in those logs are deleted or anonymized on a rolling basis.
• Security and sign-in logs (such as OTP requests) for up to 90 days to protect the service from fraud.
• Backups may retain copies for up to 30 days in the ordinary course of operations, then are purged.
• Anonymous, aggregated statistics that cannot identify you (for example total number of active shops).

Before you delete

Export any records you need from Settings → Export in the app before requesting deletion. Once your account is deleted, your shop data cannot be restored.
